I began my professional career when I graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology with a diploma in psychiatric nursing. Since 1975, I have been a clinical member of the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia. In 1983 I obtained a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California. I have over 30 years of experience in a broad range of mental health settings, including working with children and families, treating patients in psychiatric hospitals and in-patient units, working with mentally and physically disabled individuals, conducting programs for assaultive men, evaluating and conducting bio-psycho-social assessments of individuals remanded by the court, and conducting individual and group psychotherapy. Since 1993 I have maintained a private practice in counselling and psychotherapy in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada.
I am invested in ongoing professional training in both group and individual psychotherapy, and since 1996 I have been part of an on-going training group led by Dr. Ellen Wright PhD. (For more information on Dr. Wright see www.clinicalenrichment.com).
